Our sites offer patients the most current technologies and treatments available which allows our community to be on the cutting edge of research. Palmetto Clinical’s dedicated and experienced team bring the highest quality study conduct in their prospective therapeutic areas and provides genuine compassion and care to each and every patient who agrees to participate in our clinical trials.
April Butler, RMA, CRC
Research Coordinator
Greenville Office
April received her medical assistant registration from American Medical Technologist in 2015 and recently received her CPC through the AAPC. She worked in the field of pain management for 9 years as a Clinical Coordinator before becoming a Research Coordinator at Palmetto Clinical in 2016.
Angela Cauble, RN, CCRC
Research Coordinator
Greenville Office
Angela received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Piedmont Technical College in 2007 and her Certified Clinical Research Coordinator designation in 2016. She worked as a hemodialysis nurse for seven years prior to starting her career at Palmetto Clinical in 2014 as a Clinical Research Coordinator. Angela received her Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) designation in 2016 and has proven to be a valuable member of the Palmetto Clinical team.
Graham Howle
Business Manager
Graham received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Clemson University in 1994. He is a business consultant and joined Palmetto Clinical in 2017 to assist with business development and financial management.
Kathie White
Office Administrator
Kathie graduated from SUNY Cortland in upstate New York in 1985 and moved to South Carolina in 1994. She has worked for Palmetto Clinical as office administrator since 2003. Her ability to manage the office independently and confidently helps us keep our sites running smoothly and efficiently. Kathie’s attention to detail and organizational skills make her a strong asset to the Palmetto Clinical team.
Mary Sanda, RN, BSN, CCRC
Managing Partner
Mary graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She began her research career in 1997 conducting multi-specialty trials and received her Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) designation in 1999. Mary was one of the founding partners of Palmetto Clinical in 2002.
Starsha Rhinehart, CMA, CCRC
Research Coordinator
Anderson Office
Starsha received her medical assistant certification from Greenville Technical College in 2006. She worked in the field of pediatrics for 10 years before becoming a research coordinator in Pediatric Academic & Research where she spent the next for four years. Starsha came to Palmetto Clinical in 2015 and has been a wonderful asset to our dermatology office. Starsha received her Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) designation in 2020.
Our Investigators
Matthew L. Miller, MD
- Dr. Miller joined Palmetto Clinical Trial Services, LLC in 2013.
- He holds a B.S. in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan College (1979) and an M.S. in Biology from West Virginia University (1981).
- Dr. Miller earned his medical degree from West Virginia University in 1987 and completed his residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
- He is the current President of the South Carolina Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Piedmont Dermatological Society.
John M. Humeniuk, MD
- Dr. Humeniuk, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, became a U.S. citizen and joined the dermatology field.
- He earned a B.Sc. in Medicine and a medical degree from the University of Manitoba in 1977.
- Dr. Humeniuk completed a rotating internship at the Manitoba Association of Teaching Hospitals in 1978 and a dermatology residency at Duke University Medical Center in 1981.
- He received Board Certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 1981, with Lifetime Certification and Voluntary Recertifications in 2009 and 2019.
- Dr. Humeniuk is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
- Since the early 1990s, he has served as principal investigator in numerous FDA phase II and III therapeutic studies for various dermatologic treatments.
Caroline P. Brown, PA-C
- Caroline graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2000 with a Physician Assistant degree.
- She graduated from the College of Charleston in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.
- She works in Anderson, SC, and specializes in Dermatology.
Stephanie K. Davis, PA
- Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 2006.
- She began her career as a substance abuse counselor.
- She graduated from South University with a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies in 2001.
- She is a certified Physician Assistant with the NCCPA.
- She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
- Stephanie joined Palmetto Clinical as a Sub-investigator in 2018 for dermatology clinical trials.
Katherine R. Shew, MD
- Dr. Shew joined Palmetto Clinical Trial Services, LLC in 2017.
- She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, College of Medicine in 2003.
- She received Board Certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 2010.
- Dr. Shew graduated from Wake Forest University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
- She works in Anderson, SC, and specializes in Dermatology.
Theresa G. Knoepp, MD
- Dr. Knoepp joined Palmetto Clinical Trial Services, LLC in 2016.
- She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine in 1993.
- She received Board Certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 2000.
- Dr. Knoepp graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
- She works in Anderson, SC, and specializes in Dermatology.
